Our Tailgate Schedule has ended.

We are now back in the corner lot on the Eagle Express end on every Wednesday and Sunday. All friends and fogs are always welcome to attend and partake in the festivities. If you would like to help our cause of drinking friends who meet regularly to discuss their skiing addiction, let us know. We are always looking for volunteers for the main course. I'll keep a posted list here of past and future tailgates in 2010. If you would like to help, let George, John or myself know. All menus are posted so you know what may complement the main course; hint hint.

Thanks to Papa Roach, we are going to have our first tailgate this coming Wednesday, 12/9. Burgers will be grilled and I'm in for potato salad. We'll start down a the end of the lot (Eagle Express) so bring your skis and appetite and some extras goodies to munch on. Questions, check with Roach!

New Snow, Better Snow = Nice!

After a few days of very wet snow, temperatures get colder and the powder gets lighter. About 13" total today with more coming tonight. We hope it is the start of something new.

Sunday Tailgate

Sunday tailgate with a great selection of hot dogs and chicken wings (your choice of sweet or spicy no less). We are just loving the great weather and there seems to be a break in the storms for now. Soft snow, good coverage and fun for all. Crazy Sunday with the parking lot completely full, lots of people and cars parking out on the canyon road (parking tickets where to be had for all of those lucky people).

Sunday Tailgate - St Patricks Day

How do you describe another day in paradise? 4" of new powder to bottomless powder back in honeycomb. Lots of green today in honor of St Patrick, a great tailgate with thanks to John E for a contribution of corn beef (Ruben sandwiches) and with a little help from his friends, goodies of drink and merriment. We even had spots of sunshine, who else could be so lucky? Let the green flow...

Another Tailgate Sunday

Another great tailgate Sunday, I think this might of been one of the largest turnouts we have had. Lot's of friends stopped by to spread the love today. Great bluebird day... Spring is just around the corner.

Tailgate Sundays Continue

So tailgate Sundays continue with great food and friends. These photos are from 2/10 and 2/17. The great skiing continues too; more snow and a few blue bird days as well. We should have a break from the storms next week. Also, presidents day week was busy, so let's say goodbye to all those tourists so we can get back down to business Solitude mountain stats as of today: 115" base and 404" of season snowfall. Can you say "we are blessed" Many moose are down in the canyon feeding so watch out for them.

Tailgate Sunday

With a little assistance from the powers to be... we have a nice expanded spot down at the end of quad parking area to spread our joy, friendship, drink and eats. Looks like we will be here on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting) until further notice. Party on... Fog... Our official schedule can alway be found here

Chocolate Lover's Tour Tailgate Saturday

Today was Solitudes annual chocolate lover's tour. We all cruised around and stopped at 6 different spots for chocolate. Another "rare" day to date for the season with lots of sunshine and warm temps. We had a great tailgate party with a good turn out of friends. CG and his assistant Brig made up a great batch of hot chocolate with the spike being optional. More snow is on the way again for the next few days. It's an awesome season so far... It's good to be a FOG

Brisk Tailgate Wednesday

Today's high was supposed to be around 7 degrees! I'm not sure what the temps where today, but whoa, it was cold. Brighton reported a record low of -2 degrees. But, nothing like some great friends and some good warm goodies to finish out our day. Warm Chicago Dogs and some Crazy George spiked cider did just the trick to take the edge off of the cold temperatures. We said goodbye to Tony and Barb today from California, hopefully they will be back for Brigs birthday. Oh yeah, Linda gave Bill a new ruskie hat today, dig it!

Fog Ski Luncheons

Till further notice, here is the plan for Fog Luncheons:

Saturdays, Wednesdays and Sundays - Tailgate down at the lower end of the lot (quad end). Plan B if the weather is not permitting - Brown Bag Room by Moonbeam.

Mondays & Tuesdays - Beach is officially closed so we plan on being here. Plan B if the weather is not permitting - Brown Bag Room by Moonbeam.

All other days - At the beach with discretion, alternative is always the Brown Bag Room. Check with one of your local FOG buddies. Contribute to the facility, purchase your favorite beverage or food and always show your appreciation to the hard working employees!

Your contribution of some small food or snack is always appreciated so we may all enjoy!

Tailgate Wednesday - A Success!

Parking lot tailgate = a pretty good time! We are now talking about taking this party to Saturday's as well. A Saturday Tail-Gate in the lot will also let Brig, and the folks that didn't want to buy the outrageously priced Saturday pass, a chance to join us in the lot for lunch without having to ski. George will do the kick-off this Saturday about 11:30 in "George's corner" of the Moonbeam Lot with hot dogs for all. Bring anything you want to contribute to the party and plan on joining us this Saturday. We'll take a vote at that time to see if this becomes a regular deal. Hey, I see some new familiar faces here, welcome back Hal, Eunice and Ken.
