RIP: Shaun A. Shelton

Shaun was the Solitude Ski Patrol that gave us are official name, the "Fog"

The following is from his obituary in the SL Tribune:

Shaun A. Shelton "Krash" Our friend, son and brother died on the morning of Sept. 1, 2007 from complications of a disease he battled for several years. Shaun was born Aug. 6, 1968, in Bountiful, Utah, and lived in Minnesota before returning in 1980 to live with his father. He attended junior high and high school in Murray. His list of accomplishments is long, as he excelled at everything he set out to do. Among those, he worked 16 years as an emergency medical technician at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, consecutively working side-by-side many men and women he looked up to and loved at Solitude Mountain Resort, where he was a ski patroller and avalanche dog trainer. His many loves included skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, softball and hockey, dog-training, and big-game hunting. Krash loved the mountains and found peace and spirituality in the great outdoors. His personality was a great asset to him as he never met a stranger nor forgot a name. Shaun is survived by his father, Lyle Shelton, his mother Ardene (Gary) Jones, two brothers, Blake (Michelle) and Brandon (Ali) Gee, five nephews and one niece, as well as his loyal dog Arry, and hundreds of friends who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his best dog, Kruzr. His life and struggle to find peace with his addiction will never be forgotten.

A memorial service was held Thursday Sept 6, 2007, at the Moonbeam Center up Big Cottonwood Canyon.
